ESWC 2015
C’est presque rendu une tradition maintenant! Pour leur deuxième année consécutive, le Mondial des jeux Loto-Québec nous a invités à leur conférence de presse au prestigieux Casino de Montréal pour annoncer l’évènement de manière appropriée. Nous nous y sommes rendus pour assister à la conférence et nous avons de bonnes nouvelles pour les eSports québécois ainsi que pour la communauté de Counter-Strike: Global Offensive!
La conférence a été ouverte par le producteur exécutif Arman Afkhami avec une petite introduction pour ensuite laisser la place au porte-parole officiel de l’édition 2015 du Mondial, le célèbre Denis Talbot! L’enthousiasme de Mr Talbot était palpable alors qu’il a prononcé une allocution élégante sur la culture des jeux vidéos et sur le festival qui prendra place dans le centre-ville.

Mr Talbot a aussi annoncé que le Mondial allait encore héberger la finale nord-américaine de Just Dance! Ce tournoi prendre place dans le Complexe Desjardins, au coeur du Festival Juste pour Rire et le gagnant aura l’occasion de se rendre à Paris pour la finale internationale de Just Dance dans le cadre de l’ESWC Paris. Mr Afkhami a bien raison de dire que l’ESWC est «les Jeux olympiques du jeu vidéo, à Paris»1
Ce dernier a d’ailleurs repris la parole à Mr Talbot pour annoncer le gros morceau de la conférence, le tournoi de CS:GO! La finale du tournoi nord-américain aura lieu à Montréal du 10 au 12 juillet. Sans aucun doute, ce sera «le plus gros tournoi de CS:GO sur la scène nord-américaine»2 avec 21 équipes, deux tournois, un masculin et un féminin, un grand prix de 75 000$ pour le tournoi masculin et 15 000$ pour le féminin. Suite au tournoi, la compagnie montréalaise OPSkins financera un after-party VIP de 20 000$3 ce qui va donner une soirée assez intense! En plus, si vous avez envie d’un avant-goût, vous pourrez aller voir les finales canadiennes durant la dernière journée du Comic-Con de Montréal!
Bref, on peut dire que le Mondial des Jeux Loto-Québec a bien appris de l’année passée et qu’ils sont en forme pour faire un évènement dont Montréal et les gamers du Québec vont se rappeler… Au moins jusqu’à l’année prochaine!

ESWC 2015
It’s almost a tradition at this point! For their second year, the Mondial des jeux Loto-Québec invited us to their press conference at the prestigious Montreal Casino to announce their event in an appropriate manner. We went there to assist and gather the good news for all the Quebec Esports and Counter-Strike: Global offensive community!
The conference opened with the executive producer, Arman Afkhami, delivering a small word of welcome. He then left the mic to the official spokesperson of the 2015 edition, the famous Denis Talbot! He pronounced an elegant speech on the gaming culture in Montreal and about the festival that would be taking place downtown.

Mr Talbot also announced that the Mondial was going to host the North-American finals of the ESWC Just Dance competition! The tournament will take place in the Desjardins complex, in the middle of the Just For Laughs Festival. The winner will have the opportunity to fly to Paris for the ESWC Just Dance finals. Mr Afkhami is very right when he says the ESWC is the “olympics of videogames, happening in Paris.”1
Mr Afkhami then took the lead again to announce the pièce de résistance of the conference, the CS:GO tournament! The ESWC north-american finals will take place in Montreal from july 10th to july 12th. Without a doubt, this will be “the biggest CS:GO tournament in the North-American scene”2. With 21 teams, 2 tournaments, one male-only with 75 000$ for the first prize and one female-only with 15 000$ for the first prize. Following the tournament, there will be an after-party sponsored by the Montreal company OPSkins. Supposedly, the amount of the sponsorship is 20 000$, so that’s going to be a hell of a party! Furthermore, if you really want an amuse-gueule, you can visit the Montreal Comic-Con during the Sunday where the Canadian finals will take place!
In any case, we can safely say that the Mondial des Jeux Loto-Québec learned from last year and are really shaped up for an eSports event that Montreal and the Quebec gamers will remember! At least, until next years edition!
