DESCRIPTION:Français\n\n \nComiccon de Montréal\nLe Comiccon de Montréal est un événement destiné aux amateurs de culture populaire à l’occasion duquel ces derniers ont la chance de rencontrer des artistes et de voir un large éventail de produits issus de l’univers du divertissement: science-fiction\, horreur\, anime\, jeux vidéo sous toutes leurs formes et\, bien sûr\, bandes dessinées et comic books. On y trouve une grande diversité d’exposants\, notamment des entreprises qui y présentent leurs marchandises\, ainsi que des véhicules ou d’autres éléments marquants de films ou de séries télévisées. Il s’agit d’une occasion unique pour les collectionneurs de trouver le tee-shirt\, le comic book\, le jouet\, la figurine\, le DVD ou Blu-ray ou la réplique dont ils rêvent. \nLes aficionados de comic books et de bandes dessinées ont quant à eux la chance de rencontrer leurs artistes préférés\, de demander leur autographe\, d’acheter un dessin ou de les remercier pour leur travail. L’un des points marquants de l’événement est certes la possibilité pour les visiteurs de rencontrer les artisans mêmes de leur émission de télé ou de leur film préféré. Les vedettes participent à des séances de photo et de signature d’autographes\, et donnent des conférences accueillant de 700 à 2 500 personnes. \nOn encourage les visiteurs (sans les obliger\, toutefois) à se costumer sous les traits de leur icône de la culture populaire préférée (cinéma\, télé\, jeu vidéo ou comic book\, par exemple). Le défilé de costumes atteint son apogée lors de la mascarade\, grand concours de costumes présidé par des juges venus des quatre coins du monde qui notent plus de 60 concurrents devant les encouragements de près de 2 500 amateurs réunis pour l’occasion. \nPendant les trois jours de l’événement\, les visiteurs sont invités à plus de 100 groupes de discussion et ateliers visant la promotion des comic books\, des costumes\, des jeux vidéo et de la culture populaire en général. Une zone de jeux vidéo est aménagée pour ceux et celles qui voudraient découvrir des jeux en démonstration\, participer à des tournois ou simplement profiter d’une séance de jeu gratuite. Les démonstrations sur place et les tournois de jeux vidéo de sport englobent à la fois des jeux indépendants et des titres parmi les plus prisés. It features a large array of exhibits with several companies demonstrating their wares and a few vehicles or set pieces from film or television are on display\, a shopping experience like no other\, aimed at fans that are looking for games\, T-Shirts\, comics\, toys\, statues\, DVDs/Blu-rays\, replicas and more collector items. \nFans have the opportunity come to meet their favorite creators from the world of comics and BD\, get their autographs\, buy a sketch or thank them for their work. Additionally\, one of the biggest draws\, fans get to meet the personalities behind their favorite TV shows and movies. Celebrities participate in autograph sessions\, photo opportunities and Q&As that accommodate between 700 and 2500 fans. \nFans are encouraged (but not obliged) to come dressed as their favorite pop culture characters\, be they from movies\, TV\, video games or comics. It culminates at the Masquerade\, the big costuming competition that brings in judges from across the globe\, over 60 competitors\, and close to 2500 fans to cheer them on when they hit the big stage. \nOver the course of three days\, fans are treated to over 100 different panel discussions and workshops that help further promote comics\, costuming\, gaming and pop culture in general. A gaming zone for fans to discover new game demos\, participate in tourneys or simply enjoy some free-play. The procedure is as follows: \nA player requests double blind to the opponent\nThis player calls over a pool captain or other tournament official (must be approved by the other player)\, and tells them their character selection in secret.\nThe other player selects their character.\nThe official then announces the first player’s pick and that player must select that character for the first stage.\nSet procedure continues from step 2 as described above. \nSTAGE STRIKING: \nPlayers engage in a battle of RPS best of 1. Winner strikes the first stage. Loser then strikes the next two stages. Winner strikes the last one effectively choosing the first stage they play on. (1-2-1) \nSTAGE CLAUSE: \nPlayers may not pick ANY stage they have won on in the set previously except by agreement of the opponent (Gentleman’s Clause). This is also known as Modified Dave’s Stupid Rule. \nGENTLEMAN’S CLAUSE: \nThis rule can only be used to allow an opponent to go to a stage they already won on in the set\, or to agree on a legal stage instead of stage striking. It cannot be used to pick a stage off the stage list or to agree to different game/set rules or settings\, etc. Playing a game contrary to this rule may result in a forfeit of that game by the player who asked to do so. \nSTAGE BANS: \nAfter each game of the set as the first step in counterpicking\, the player who won the previous game may ban one stage from the stage list. Stage bans last 1 game\, therefore a player who banned a stage may counterpick that stage themselves later in the set\, unless banned by their opponent. In a best-of-5 set\, players may elect to change their bans after their second win. This takes place at the same point in the procedure as the ordinary ban\, and causes the first stage to be unbanned. \nNEUTRAL PORTS: \nSome relative spawn points in some stages are significantly advantageous to one player/team. Either player/team may request\, before a match begins\, to have controller ports to be switched to avoid these situations. This request cannot be turned down. Port priority must be maintained through the switch. A list of neutral ports for each stage will be available on request. \nNEUTRAL START: \nPlayers may NEVER ask for a “neutral start” where both players move to the opposite side of the stage after the game start and then countdown to ‘officially’ start the game. If anyone does ask for this\, use neutral ports rule instead. Players that neutral start on stream will be removed from the stream. A player that has been warned about this rule but asks the other player anyway will forfeit the game of the set about to be played. \nTEAM COLORS: \nPlayers’ character colors must match their team’s color when possible\, to avoid confusion (ex: Luigi on the green team must use the green costume). \nWIRELESS CONTROLLERS: \nAny wireless Nintendo licensed controller is allowed\, with the following constraints: \nPlayers using a Pro Controller MUST use the wired option and have the batteries out. The player must also show that the batteries are out to their pool captain before each set before they are allowed to play.\nPlayers using any other wireless controller must notify their pool captain immediately when arriving at their pool. The pool captain will send the player to a specific station in the venue designated for all wireless play. Players with wireless controllers must play at this station for all their sets\, without exception. ANY WIRELESS PLAY OUTSIDE THIS STATION WILL RESULT IN A DQ OR REVOKING OF ENTRY BADGE. Friendlies with wireless controllers may only happen in the friendlies venue or other designated friendly setups. \nTIMEOUTS\, TIES\, AND SUDDEN DEATH: \nIn the case of the time reaching zero\, the player with the higher stock wins the match. If players are tied in stock\, lower percent wins. If players are tied in percent\, or two players/teams lose all their last stocks simultaneously\, players play a 1 stock game with a 3 minute timer to determine the result of the match. If this was a doubles game\, all players play in the game. \nSELF-DESTRUCT MOVES: \nIf a match ends with the successful use of a character’s self-destruct move\, the results screen will determine the winner. No exceptions. If it ends with sudden death\, standard sudden death rules apply.
