SUMMARY:MTLSF'S UNDERGROUND HYPE XV (Ladies Night)
DESCRIPTION:MTLSF’S UNDERGROUND HYPE XV (Ladies Night)\nWassup MTLSF! \nWe are back once more with our 15th tournament serie! For this next Underground Hype event\, in the hopes of seeing more female players on the competitive scene\, we are having a ladies night theme\, where all ladies will have a free entry fee\, meaning that it will only cost 5$ for the ladies to enter the tournament and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. Also\, we are very proud to announce that the following three “MTLSF’s Underground Hype” events will be the official Canadian east coast’s seeding events for Canada Cup Gaming (See the “CCG Seeding” description below for more information). Take note that the tournament will start earlier than usual\, it will start at 5pm so if you intend on being part of the tournament\, please be sure to arrive before that time as there will be no registrations after that time. Once again\, we are proud to have “Orange Maison” as a sponsor for our next event\, which will provide free cans of “Base” energy drinks on this summer day to keep the hype going for the whole evening! As usual\, there will be a interesting raffle prize to be won if you entered the tournament. Regarding the equipment\, as our last events\, we will have plenty of lagless monitors all around but are missing PS4 consoles. Anyone willing to bring a PS4 console to the event will receive a refund for their 5$ entry fee. If you think about bringing your PS4 to the event\, please post your intention under the event or simply message one of the hosts in order to let them know what to expect so they can plan accordingly.\nFor those who already been at our last events or who have read the description of our previous events\, the following is pretty much a copy-paste of the same description\, however\, be sure to check out the “CCG Seeding” section below for new information regarding the upcoming event.\nHere is a resume of the main points of the evening:\n-Ladies Night (Free entry for all ladies)\n-Official CCG seeding event (1/3)\n-5$ entry fee\n-Open from 2pm to 11pm\n-SFV main event starts at 5pm (5$ tournament fee – PS4 only)\n-Hot-dogs available at 1.50$ each\n-Free bottles of water\n-Free cans of “Base” energy drinks (provided by “Orange Maison”)\n-Raffles draw at 5pm \nIf you are new to this event\, its objective is simply to bring the local FGC together where anyone is welcome to join (underage included). If you consider yourself a casual player\, this event will give you the experience of participating in a casual tournament. Instead of fighting your regular friends or people you don’t know online\, you will have the opportunity of fighting real local people\, each with their own style and knowledge\, who share the same hobby as you. Although it will revolve a lot around Street Fighter\, if you play other fighting games\, you are more than welcome since we will have several other fight games title available for casuals and you can also bring your own. \nCCG Seeding\nWe are very proud to announce that the following three “MTLSF’s Underground Hype” events will be the official Canadian east coast’s seeding events for Canada Cup Gaming held in Toronto on October 27th-30th. This is something on the side that does not affect the regular progress of the tournament but only allows for a better seeding on the CCG bracket for the overall winners of the 3 upcoming events. For the following 3 events\, there will be points associated to each final position in the tournament and a update will be made after each tournament with the addition of the points for all players who entered. After the 3 events\, the top 2 players will be insured a proper seeding at CCG. After the first event\, you can always view your points on the official MTLSF website at www.mtlsf.com.\nThe points will be distributed as following:\n1st place = 150\n2nd place = 125\n3rd place = 115\n4th place = 100\n5th place (2) = 90\n7th place (2) = 75\n9th place (4) = 65\n13th place (4) = 50\n17th place (8) = 40\n25th place (8) = 25\n33rd place (16) = 15\n49th place and higher = 10 \nDualshock 4 pads\, Converters and Legacy Controller Authentication\nFrom the experience of past events\, it seems as everyone got more familiar with the Legacy Controller Authentication which didn’t waste any time configuring and everyone had the reflex to check the paired controllers on the system before starting a tournament match\, so we will still allow it at the next event. But please\, before your match do not forget to unpair all devices that shouldn’t be there by going to Settings->Devices->Bluetooth Devices and select all of the DUALSHOCK 4 that are off and DELETE them. \nTime\, date and fees\nThe event will take place on Saturday July 30th and the place will be open from 2pm until 11pm. The casuals will start at 2pm and going until closure and the tournament for SFV will start at 5pm. An entry fee of 5$ will be charged per person to enter and an extra 5$ will be charged for the tournament entry if you wish to enter the tournament (explained in detail below) to help cover the expenses. Please note that the point of this event is not to make money\, but to assemble the local Fighting Game Community together. As a matter of fact\, once the expenses are covered\, the extra money will go to the winners of the SFV tournament. \nMain Tournament (SFV)\nOther than the 5$ entry fee\, an additional 5$ will be required if you wish to enter the tournament. The tournament will be for Street Fighter V and will be played on PS4 only. The tournament will be starting at 6pm and will be a double elimination style (Winners and Losers brackets). The tournament will be a best 2 out of 3 until the finals (Winners\, Losers and Grand Finale)\, which will be a best 3 out of 5. The winning prizes will be the exceeding of profits over expenses made during the evening (100% entry fees + 100% SFV tournament fees – 100% minor expenses) and will be spread as following: 1st – 55%\, 2nd – 30% and 3rd – 15%. \nLocation\nThe local itself is situated at the main floor of a condominium and is usually used for war veterans meetings\, so we only ask of you to treat it respectfully. The local was the best location I could find for the relation quality/price and will allow a bigger pot for the winner of the tournament. It can hold around 60 persons\, so we would greatly appreciate if you could click the “Going” button under the event if you are serious about coming to help us keep track of the number of participants. The local is situated at 4885 Boulevard Henri-Bourassa West (corner Henri-Bourassa and Marcel Laurin)\, and is located at the BACK of the building. The entrance is easily identifiable with the big maple leafs stickers on the door and the mention LEGION written.\nIf you come by car\, there is a train station right in front of the local which you can use for parking. I discussed this point with the owner of the local in order to not have any problems with towing since the parking spot is for the users of the train\, but he assured me that there should be no such problems. He always refer to that parking spot for people who are using this local and had no problems in the past since there is nobody present on place nor cameras that verifies if you truly are a customer for the train. So as for the parking spot\, it is only a suggestion and is at your own discretion. Note that if you park your car there\, it will be easily visible from the local itself. The train station parking mentioned is the second entrance on your right\, just after you passed Henri-Bourassa while going on Marcel-Laurin north\, and not the first one\, which is reserved for residents with a pass.\nIf you come by either metro or bus\, I suggest you to use the STM website and the “Itinéraire” tab which will allow you to enter your address and the local’s address and will propose you different travel options which you can then choose the most convenient one for you. If you managed to come by public transportation and are willing to tag along until closing time (around 11h30pm)\, it will be my pleasure to drop you off afterwards to the metro or even home depending on where you live. \nOther basic information\n– There are men and women bathrooms.\n– There will be free bottle of waters provided.\n– There will be free cans of “Base” energy drinks provided by “Orange Maison”\n– A kitchen will be at our disposal so you can bring your own food or soft drinks if you want. Please note that the only thing you cannot bring regarding food and beverages is alcohol.\n– For all of you who would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while gaming\, rest assured as the owner will be present at the bar for alcohol selling. When you pass through the main entry door\, at your left will be the gaming room and at your right will be the bar with the owner. To enter the bar you must be at least 18 years old. It will be possible for you to bring the alcohol beverage bought from the bar into the gaming room.\n– Due to the lack of restaurants in the nearby area\, the owner will be selling hot-dogs at 1.50$ each during the event.\n– Wi-Fi connection will be available (very limited connection though). \nIf you like the sound of this event\, please help support it by coming by and having a good time gaming with people who share the same hobby as you. With your participation and support\, it could easily be an event that we could arrange to host regularly for you guys. \nI tried to be as much detailed as I can for this post by giving as much information as I could\, but if you have any questions regarding subjects that aren’t covered in this post\, feel free to send me your questions by Facebook messaging and I will get back to you as soon as possible. \nHope to see you guys there in great numbers! \nSincerely yours\,\nPavel (EVO–777) & Yuk (Red_Cel)

SUMMARY:MTLSF MAT XI (Montreal Annual Tournament XI)
DESCRIPTION:MTLSF MAT XI (Montreal Annual Tournament XI)\nAfter over 3 years of absence\, MTLSF is proud to bring back MAT! (Montreal Annual Tournament). For the return of this event\, we wanted to do something special\, so we rented a private lounge right in the middle of Downtown Montreal where MAT XI will be held for a special 2 day event. The event takes place on September 17 and 18\, where summer is getting to an end and where students may be able to attend before getting bodied by school duties. The main tournament will of course be Street Fighter V but there will also be a side tournament for Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator and Blazblue. MTLSF has put in a lot of effort to try and make this event nice and unique and to make it something you do not want to miss out on! With a venue packed with top players and open to until way passed bedtime\, whether you’d be coming to the event to have a good time or to find some challenge\, you’re guaranteed to find both! With that being said\, we would really appreciate everyone’s support for this and we really hope to see you there in great numbers! \n*Price Information*\n-Venue fee: 25$\n-Street Fighter V tournament fee: 25$\n-Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator tournament fee: 10$\n-Blazblue tournament fee: 10$ \n*** Please take note that if you do not preregister before the deadline and register at the door\, an extra 10$ will be charged\, so once again\, if you are sure to come to the event\, please preregister at: https://smash.gg/tournament/m-a-t-xi \nEven though a venue fee and tournament fee are listed\, please take note that in reality there is no such thing for this event as the prize pool for each tournament will greatly be influenced by the number of attendees for each game. The tournament is a non-profit event and so the extra money of the revenue over the expenses will be proportionally distributed among the number of players for each tournament (SFV & GG) and also proportionally to the total fee that was paid. For Blazblue however\, the prize pool will be the total of the tournament fees for that tournament. \n*Smash.gg*\nSmash.gg is a website designed for tournament organisers and players that simplifies a lot of things for the process of a good tournament. It is a platform that is used more frequently to sign up at tournaments so if you do not yet have an account on Smash.gg\, please take the time to make one as the registries for the tournaments (only Blazblue entries will be done without preregistering) will be done through this website\, it should take less than 5 minutes to create an account and will save a lot of trouble and will allow for a better planning of the schedule concerning the pools. Other than the general planning of the evening\, if you intend in going to the event\, it is strongly advised that you register through Smash.gg\, even if you intend in coming as a spectator only\, as the venue itself has a capacity limit where we will allow only for 160 people. So if you preregister\, your place is automatically saved and if that cap is reached\, we won’t allow any more people inside. Also\, the deadline for preregister will be set to Thursday September 15th at 11:59:59 PM. After that time\, you will still be able to show up and register at the door (if the cap of people hasn’t been reached)\, but you will be put in a death bracket where everyone who hasn’t preregister will be added and the bracket will be generated randomly with no seeding.\nYou can preregister by clicking the following link: https://smash.gg/tournament/m-a-t-xi \n*Partial Schedule*\nSATURDAY SEPTEMBER 17\n-Venue opens at 12h00pm for casuals\n-SFV tournament starts at 13h00 and brackets ran all day until finals\n-GG Xrd Revelator starts at 16h00\n-Blazblue more info to come\n-After hour party starts at 22h00\n-Exhibition 3VS3 city team battle at 22h00\nSUNDAY SEPTEMBER 18\n-Finals for SFV \n*Food*\nThere will be delicious food prepared on the premises so outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the venue. \n*Street Fighter V*\nPlayed on PS4\nAll 6 characters from season 1 DLC allowed\nDouble elimination tournament\n2 out of 3 games per match until top 8 (4 players in winners and 4 players in losers)\n3 out of 5 games per match for top 8 (including winner’s final\, loser’s final and grand finale) \n*Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator*\nPlayed on PS4\nDouble elimination bracket\n2 out of 3 games per match until top 3\n3 out of 5 games per match for winner’s final\, loser’s final and grand finale \n*Blazblue*\nPlayed on PS3\nDouble elimination bracket\n2 out of 3 games per match until top 3\n3 out of 5 games per match for winner’s final\, loser’s final and grand finale \n*Sticks\, Pads\, Converters & Legacy Controller Authentication*\nWhatever device you are using to play\, you must bring your own to the event. Legacy Controller Authentication will be allowed for this event\, but if you need to pair your stick\, please make sure to bring a PS4 pad in order to be able to pair it with. Also\, before your tournament match begins\, please remember to unpair all devices that should not be there by going to Settings->Devices->Bluetooth Devices and select all of the Dualshock 4 devices that are off and DELETE them. \n*Broken Sticks/Button*\nIf you have any stick/button problem at any time during your tournament match\, STOP PLAYING\, get up and inform a organiser. The stick/buttons will be fixed or changed and the outcome of the match will be decided. If you do that after the match rather than during\, it will be too late. \nThe event’s details regarding schedule\, special guests\, food menu\,specific rules\, etc\, will be regularly updated with posts under the event on Facebook\, so please remember to mark as “Going” under the Facebook event in order to receive notifications of updates regarding the event. \nFor registration please proceed with the following link: https://smash.gg/tournament/m-a-t-xi \nIf you have any concerns about the event or questions\, be sure to address them to one of the hosts or post your concerns under the event on Facebook. \nSincerely yours\,\nMTLSF Team

However; it must be noted that US residents are not eligible for Red Bull Proving Grounds points. They can however secure a monetary share from the collected prize pools. \n\nTournament Rules / Equipment Rules:\n\nPlayed on Playstation 4\n\nTournament Format:\n Strict Rules will be implemented once the official tournament has started\, nobody will be granted special treatment. Once your name or gamertag is announced\, you will need to report to the assigned station or else you will be disqualified. A 5 minutes warning will be given before proceeding with the disqualification.\n\nDouble elimination tournament:\n 2 out of 3 games per match\n 3 out of 5 games per Winners and Losers Finals\n 3 out of 5 games grand finals\n\nBring your own sticks/controllers:\n The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However\, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore\, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use\, make sure you ask other players or juge to help you find a controller.. All singles matches will enforce a 5 minutes rule and if you can’t find a stick within that time you will be disqualified. This is an advance warning and will not be brought up again.\n\nBroken Sticks/Buttons:\n If you have any stick/button problems at any time\, STOP PLAYING\, get up and inform a bracket director. The stick will be fixed/changed and the Judge will DECIDE the outcome. Please respect the Judge’s decision.\n\nAfter Match Results:\n Please make sure to update the tournament directors with your match results. If we don’t get an update from the winner or the loser and it will delays our work\, both players will be marked as Losers of their match and therefore be eliminated.\n\nControllers / Converters Rules:\n\nConverters:\n The Brook Converters and boards are allowed on a temporary basis. If game systems patch them out before the event\, rendering them useless\, they will be banned. So be very careful and have a backup plan.\n\nControllers:\n Great news for pad players out there. Since the Evolution Championship Series staff has made the decision to legalize DualShock 4 usage at their event this year then we will allow it as we follow their rules/regulations. Though normally banned due to their Bluetooth capabilities\, folks who rely on these devices to compete will now be able to utilize their controller of choice. You will need to bring your own USB cable.\n\nBut that doesn’t mean there won’t be regulations in place to ensure they don’t interfere with the competition. It will be every DualShock 4 users’ responsibility to make sure their controller is no longer paired with the console after their match. Anyone who doesn’t risks automatically disqualified from the tournament.\n\nMapping buttons is allowed but Autofire / Turbo are not allowed.\n\nAdditional Rules:\n 1. There will be no ties in any tournament. Anyone refusing to play any Match (including the finals) will be disqualified and forfeit all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.\n 2. A draw match as determined by the game must be replayed\, unless the game awards the draw to a player.\n 3. Inevitable Defeat rule is in effect. This is defined as when a player has legally won the round or match (i.e. landed a move that will kill the opponent) but pauses the game before the game awards the round won icon\, will still be awarded the win. The most common occurrence of this rule is when Player 1 lands a super on Player 2\, but the super animation is a grab and the damage isn’t awarded till the final hit connects\, but the opponent has legally lost the round. If there is a dispute over whether the move would have knocked out the other player\, a tournament official will unpause the match\, see the result of the action\, and proceed from there. If the attack does not kill the opponent\, then the mid game pause rules are in effect.\n 4. Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Organizer determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming\, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.\n 5. Tournament Organizer has a zero tolerance policy toward violence\, threats of violence\, intimidation\, and other forms of thuggery. Any threat of violence\, extreme intimidation\, or violence of any kind will result in an immediate and lifetime ban.\n 6. You must have in your procession at all time your Console Gamer Badge or we will not allow you to play casuals or tournament matches.\n\nIf you have any questions\, please contact us and we will do our best to help you.
