SUMMARY:MTLSF'S UNDERGROUND HYPE XIV (Team Battle)
DESCRIPTION:MTLSF’S UNDERGROUND HYPE XIV (Team Battle)\nWassup MTLSF! \nWe are back once more with our 14th tournament serie! For this next Underground Hype event\, to make things a bit more interesting and since everyone seemed to enjoy the format when we did it last time at the final chapter of USFIV\, it will be a team battle format\, but instead of being 3VS3 it will be 2VS2 (Check out the “Main Tournament (SFV)” section below for all the details regarding the rules). Once again\, we are proud to have “Orange Maison” as a sponsor for our next event\, which will provide free cans of “Base” energy drinks to keep the hype going for the whole evening! As usual\, there will be interesting raffle prizes to be won if you entered the tournament. Regarding the equipment\, as our last events\, we will have plenty of lagless monitors all around but are missing PS4 consoles. Anyone willing to bring a PS4 console to the event will receive a refund for their 5$ entry fee. If you think about bringing your PS4 to the event\, please post your intention under the event or simply message one of the hosts in order to let them know what to expect so they can plan accordingly.\nFor those who already been at our last events or who have read the description of our previous events\, the following is pretty much a copy-paste of the same description\, however\, be sure to check out the “Main tournament (SFV)” section below for new information regarding the upcoming event.\nHere is a resume of the main points of the evening:\n-5$ entry\n-Open from 2pm to 11pm\n-SFV main event starts at 6pm\, 5$ tournament fee\, PS4 only\, 2VS2 Team Battle\n-Hot-dogs available at 1.50$ each\n-Free bottles of water\n-Free cans of “Base” energy drinks (provided by “Orange Maison”)\n-Raffles draw at 6pm \nTournament rules\n-Team Battle (2 VS 2)\n-Best 2 out of 3 all the way\n-Double bracket (Winners & Losers)\n-Dualshock 4 pads\, Converters and Legacy Controller Authentication allowed \nIf you are new to this event\, its objective is simply to bring the local FGC together where anyone is welcome to join (underage included). If you consider yourself a casual player\, this event will give you the experience of participating in a casual tournament. Instead of fighting your regular friends or people you don’t know online\, you will have the opportunity of fighting real local people\, each with their own style and knowledge\, who share the same hobby as you. Although it will revolve a lot around Street Fighter\, if you play other fighting games\, you are more than welcome since we will have several other fight games title available for casuals and you can also bring your own. \nDualshock 4 pads\, Converters and Legacy Controller Authentication\nSince the last event\, it seems as everyone got more familiar with the Legacy Controller Authentication which didn’t waste any time configuring and everyone had the reflex to check the paired controllers on the system before starting a tournament match\, so we will still allow it at the next event. But please\, before your match do not forget to unpair all devices that shouldn’t be there by going to Settings->Devices->Bluetooth Devices and select all of the DUALSHOCK 4 that are off and DELETE them. \nTime\, date and fees\nThe event will take place on Saturday May 28th and the place will be open from 2pm until 11pm. The casuals will start at 2pm and going until closure and the tournament for SFV will start at 6pm. An entry fee of 5$ will be charged per person to enter and an extra 5$ will be charged for the tournament entry if you wish to enter the tournament (explained in detail below) to help cover the expenses. Please note that the point of this event is not to make money\, but to assemble the local Fighting Game Community together. As a matter of fact\, once the expenses are covered\, the extra money will go to the winners of the SFV tournament. \nMain Tournament (SFV)\nOther than the 5$ entry fee\, an additional 5$ will be required if you wish to enter the tournament. The tournament will be for Street Fighter V and will be played on PS4 only. The tournament will be starting at 6pm and will be a double elimination style (Winners and Losers brackets). It will be a 2 VS 2 team battle format. Each player will fight against the opposing opponent\, if you win one match\, you will face the next opponent. If you win again\, the match resets and you win 1 point\, first to 2 points wins. When the match resets\, you can then switch characters if you want or switch for your team mate to let him begin instead. It will be first to 2 for all tournament matches\, even the finals. If you come and don’t have a team mate\, we will try to match you with another person who is alone\, and if need be\, one of the organizers will enter as well so don’t be discouraged to come even if you don’t have anybody because it is guaranteed that you will be a part of a team. The winning prizes will be the exceeding of profits over expenses made during the evening (100% entry fees + 100% SFV tournament fees – 100% minor expenses) and will be spread as following: 1st – 70%\, 2nd – 20% and 3rd – 10%. \nLocation\nThe local itself is situated at the main floor of a condominium and is usually used for war veterans meetings\, so we only ask of you to treat it respectfully. The local was the best location I could find for the relation quality/price and will allow a bigger pot for the winner of the tournament. It can hold around 60 persons\, so we would greatly appreciate if you could click the “Going” button under the event if you are serious about coming to help us keep track of the number of participants. The local is situated at 4885 Boulevard Henri-Bourassa West (corner Henri-Bourassa and Marcel Laurin)\, and is located at the BACK of the building. The entrance is easily identifiable with the big maple leafs stickers on the door and the mention LEGION written.\nIf you come by car\, there is a train station right in front of the local which you can use for parking. I discussed this point with the owner of the local in order to not have any problems with towing since the parking spot is for the users of the train\, but he assured me that there should be no such problems. He always refer to that parking spot for people who are using this local and had no problems in the past since there is nobody present on place nor cameras that verifies if you truly are a customer for the train. So as for the parking spot\, it is only a suggestion and is at your own discretion. Note that if you park your car there\, it will be easily visible from the local itself. The train station parking mentioned is the second entrance on your right\, just after you passed Henri-Bourassa while going on Marcel-Laurin north\, and not the first one\, which is reserved for residents with a pass.\nIf you come by either metro or bus\, I suggest you to use the STM website and the “Itinéraire” tab which will allow you to enter your address and the local’s address and will propose you different travel options which you can then choose the most convenient one for you. If you managed to come by public transportation and are willing to tag along until closing time (around 11h30pm)\, it will be my pleasure to drop you off afterwards to the metro or even home depending on where you live. \nOther basic information\n– There are men and women bathrooms.\n– There will be free bottle of waters provided.\n– There will be free cans of “Base” energy drinks provided by “Orange Maison”\n– A kitchen will be at our disposal so you can bring your own food or soft drinks if you want. Please note that the only thing you cannot bring regarding food and beverages is alcohol.\n– For all of you who would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while gaming\, rest assured as the owner will be present at the bar for alcohol selling. When you pass through the main entry door\, at your left will be the gaming room and at your right will be the bar with the owner. To enter the bar you must be at least 18 years old. It will be possible for you to bring the alcohol beverage bought from the bar into the gaming room.\n– Due to the lack of restaurants in the nearby area\, the owner will be selling hot-dogs at 1.50$ each during the event.\n– Wi-Fi connection will be available (very limited connection though). \nIf you like the sound of this event\, please help support it by coming by and having a good time gaming with people who share the same hobby as you. With your participation and support\, it could easily be an event that we could arrange to host regularly for you guys. \nI tried to be as much detailed as I can for this post by giving as much information as I could\, but if you have any questions regarding subjects that aren’t covered in this post\, feel free to send me your questions by Facebook messaging and I will get back to you as soon as possible. \nHope to see you guys there in great numbers! \nEvent Main Admin\nMTLSF\, Pavel Szczypior\, Yuk Tang \nSincerely yours\,\nPavel (EVO–777) & Yuk (Red_Cel)

SUMMARY:Smash a Sherbz 3
Smash 4 Singles (1v1)\n2. SUMMARY:Montreal Comiccon 2016
\n\nEnglish\n\n \nMontreal Comiccon\nMontreal Comiccon is a pop-culture fan convention that showcases artists and products from entertainment genres like: Sci-fi\, Horror\, Anime\, Gaming in all its forms\, and\, of course\, bande dessinée and comic books. Additionally\, one of the biggest draws\, fans get to meet the personalities behind their favorite TV shows and movies. Celebrities participate in autograph sessions\, photo opportunities and Q&As that accommodate between 700 and 2500 fans. \nFans are encouraged (but not obliged) to come dressed as their favorite pop culture characters\, be they from movies\, TV\, video games or comics. It culminates at the Masquerade\, the big costuming competition that brings in judges from across the globe\, over 60 competitors\, and close to 2500 fans to cheer them on when they hit the big stage. \nOver the course of three days\, fans are treated to over 100 different panel discussions and workshops that help further promote comics\, costuming\, gaming and pop culture in general. Format du tournoi Article 2. Formats de match\nChapitre 2. Paramètres de jeu\nArticle 3. Version du jeu
Article 4. Paramètres du joueur\nChapitre 3. Déroulement d’un match\nArticle 5. Avant le match Article 6. Pendant le match Article 7. Après le match\nChapitre 4. Infraction au règlement\nArticle 8. Installation de logiciel interdit
Article 9.
=> Joueur A ban Prêtre
=> Joueur B ban Mage\n6.

No other specials for Mii Fighters will be allowed. Players are not allowed to transfer existing Miis to a setup. \nSET PROCEDURE \nPlayers/teams select characters\, or use double blind picks (see additional rules section) if either player/team asks for it.\nFirst stage is selected according to stage striking. Neutral ports may be asked for. Neutral start may never be used. See the additional rules section for a description of these rules.\nGame is played\nCounterpicking procedure takes place: \nGame winner bans 1 stage. This ban is in effect for the following game ONLY.\nGame loser picks stage from among legal stages. Players/teams may not pick ANY stage they have won on in the set previously except by agreement of the opponent (Stage Clause\, also known as Modified Dave’s Stupid Rule).\nWinning player/team may change characters.\nLosing player/team may change characters.\nNext game is played.\n5: Repeat steps 3-4 until one player/team has won the set. \nFor singles\, sets until top 32 are best-of-3\, then best-of-5 for top 32 (16 players in winners and losers). \nFor doubles\, sets until top 8 are best-of-3\, then best-of-5 for top 8 (4 teams in winners and losers). \nNote: Bans last 1 game\, therefore in a best-of-5 set\, players may elect to change their ban after their second win. This takes place at the same point in the procedure as the ordinary ban\, and causes the first stage to be unbanned. Players may also counterpick the stage they banned in the previous game if their opponent does not ban it for the game in question. \nSTAGE LIST \nSINGLES AND DOUBLES: \nStarter Stages \nBattlefield (Miiverse) *\nDreamland 64\nFinal Destination (Omegas banned)\nSmashville\nTown & City \nCounterpick Stages \nDuck Hunt\nLylat Cruise \n* If Battlefield is banned\, Miiverse in turn is banned as well. Both stages treated as one and the same. \nADDITIONAL RULES \nDOUBLE BLIND: \nIn order to avoid being character counterpicked by another player after \none player selects theirs\, they may call for a double blind pick. They must request this before stage striking begins. The procedure is as follows: \nA player requests double blind to the opponent\nThis player calls over a pool captain or other tournament official (must be approved by the other player)\, and tells them their character selection in secret.\nThe other player selects their character.\nThe official then announces the first player’s pick and that player must select that character for the first stage.\nSet procedure continues from step 2 as described above. \nSTAGE STRIKING: \nPlayers engage in a battle of RPS best of 1. Winner strikes the first stage. Loser then strikes the next two stages. Winner strikes the last one effectively choosing the first stage they play on. (1-2-1) \nSTAGE CLAUSE: \nPlayers may not pick ANY stage they have won on in the set previously except by agreement of the opponent (Gentleman’s Clause). This is also known as Modified Dave’s Stupid Rule. \nGENTLEMAN’S CLAUSE: \nThis rule can only be used to allow an opponent to go to a stage they already won on in the set\, or to agree on a legal stage instead of stage striking. It cannot be used to pick a stage off the stage list or to agree to different game/set rules or settings\, etc. Playing a game contrary to this rule may result in a forfeit of that game by the player who asked to do so. \nSTAGE BANS: \nAfter each game of the set as the first step in counterpicking\, the player who won the previous game may ban one stage from the stage list. Stage bans last 1 game\, therefore a player who banned a stage may counterpick that stage themselves later in the set\, unless banned by their opponent. In a best-of-5 set\, players may elect to change their bans after their second win. This takes place at the same point in the procedure as the ordinary ban\, and causes the first stage to be unbanned. \nNEUTRAL PORTS: \nSome relative spawn points in some stages are significantly advantageous to one player/team. Either player/team may request\, before a match begins\, to have controller ports to be switched to avoid these situations. This request cannot be turned down. Port priority must be maintained through the switch. A list of neutral ports for each stage will be available on request. \nNEUTRAL START: \nPlayers may NEVER ask for a “neutral start” where both players move to the opposite side of the stage after the game start and then countdown to ‘officially’ start the game. If anyone does ask for this\, use neutral ports rule instead. Players that neutral start on stream will be removed from the stream. A player that has been warned about this rule but asks the other player anyway will forfeit the game of the set about to be played. \nTEAM COLORS: \nPlayers’ character colors must match their team’s color when possible\, to avoid confusion (ex: Luigi on the green team must use the green costume). \nWIRELESS CONTROLLERS: \nAny wireless Nintendo licensed controller is allowed\, with the following constraints: \nPlayers using a Pro Controller MUST use the wired option and have the batteries out. The player must also show that the batteries are out to their pool captain before each set before they are allowed to play.\nPlayers using any other wireless controller must notify their pool captain immediately when arriving at their pool. The pool captain will send the player to a specific station in the venue designated for all wireless play. Players with wireless controllers must play at this station for all their sets\, without exception. ANY WIRELESS PLAY OUTSIDE THIS STATION WILL RESULT IN A DQ OR REVOKING OF ENTRY BADGE. Friendlies with wireless controllers may only happen in the friendlies venue or other designated friendly setups. \nTIMEOUTS\, TIES\, AND SUDDEN DEATH: \nIn the case of the time reaching zero\, the player with the higher stock wins the match. If players are tied in stock\, lower percent wins. If players are tied in percent\, or two players/teams lose all their last stocks simultaneously\, players play a 1 stock game with a 3 minute timer to determine the result of the match. If this was a doubles game\, all players play in the game. \nSELF-DESTRUCT MOVES: \nIf a match ends with the successful use of a character’s self-destruct move\, the results screen will determine the winner. No exceptions. If it ends with sudden death\, standard sudden death rules apply.

SUMMARY:MTLSF'S UNDERGROUND HYPE XV (Ladies Night)
DESCRIPTION:MTLSF’S UNDERGROUND HYPE XV (Ladies Night)\nWassup MTLSF! \nWe are back once more with our 15th tournament serie! For this next Underground Hype event\, in the hopes of seeing more female players on the competitive scene\, we are having a ladies night theme\, where all ladies will have a free entry fee\, meaning that it will only cost 5$ for the ladies to enter the tournament and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. Also\, we are very proud to announce that the following three “MTLSF’s Underground Hype” events will be the official Canadian east coast’s seeding events for Canada Cup Gaming (See the “CCG Seeding” description below for more information). Take note that the tournament will start earlier than usual\, it will start at 5pm so if you intend on being part of the tournament\, please be sure to arrive before that time as there will be no registrations after that time. Once again\, we are proud to have “Orange Maison” as a sponsor for our next event\, which will provide free cans of “Base” energy drinks on this summer day to keep the hype going for the whole evening! As usual\, there will be a interesting raffle prize to be won if you entered the tournament. Regarding the equipment\, as our last events\, we will have plenty of lagless monitors all around but are missing PS4 consoles. Anyone willing to bring a PS4 console to the event will receive a refund for their 5$ entry fee. If you think about bringing your PS4 to the event\, please post your intention under the event or simply message one of the hosts in order to let them know what to expect so they can plan accordingly.\nFor those who already been at our last events or who have read the description of our previous events\, the following is pretty much a copy-paste of the same description\, however\, be sure to check out the “CCG Seeding” section below for new information regarding the upcoming event.\nHere is a resume of the main points of the evening:\n-Ladies Night (Free entry for all ladies)\n-Official CCG seeding event (1/3)\n-5$ entry fee\n-Open from 2pm to 11pm\n-SFV main event starts at 5pm (5$ tournament fee – PS4 only)\n-Hot-dogs available at 1.50$ each\n-Free bottles of water\n-Free cans of “Base” energy drinks (provided by “Orange Maison”)\n-Raffles draw at 5pm \nIf you are new to this event\, its objective is simply to bring the local FGC together where anyone is welcome to join (underage included). \nCCG Seeding\nWe are very proud to announce that the following three “MTLSF’s Underground Hype” events will be the official Canadian east coast’s seeding events for Canada Cup Gaming held in Toronto on October 27th-30th. This is something on the side that does not affect the regular progress of the tournament but only allows for a better seeding on the CCG bracket for the overall winners of the 3 upcoming events. For the following 3 events\, there will be points associated to each final position in the tournament and a update will be made after each tournament with the addition of the points for all players who entered. After the 3 events\, the top 2 players will be insured a proper seeding at CCG. After the first event\, you can always view your points on the official MTLSF website at www.mtlsf.com.\nThe points will be distributed as following:\n1st place = 150\n2nd place = 125\n3rd place = 115\n4th place = 100\n5th place (2) = 90\n7th place (2) = 75\n9th place (4) = 65\n13th place (4) = 50\n17th place (8) = 40\n25th place (8) = 25\n33rd place (16) = 15\n49th place and higher = 10 \nDualshock 4 pads\, Converters and Legacy Controller Authentication\nFrom the experience of past events\, it seems as everyone got more familiar with the Legacy Controller Authentication which didn’t waste any time configuring and everyone had the reflex to check the paired controllers on the system before starting a tournament match\, so we will still allow it at the next event. But please\, before your match do not forget to unpair all devices that shouldn’t be there by going to Settings->Devices->Bluetooth Devices and select all of the DUALSHOCK 4 that are off and DELETE them. \nTime\, date and fees\nThe event will take place on Saturday July 30th and the place will be open from 2pm until 11pm. The casuals will start at 2pm and going until closure and the tournament for SFV will start at 5pm. The tournament will be a best 2 out of 3 until the finals (Winners\, Losers and Grand Finale)\, which will be a best 3 out of 5. The winning prizes will be the exceeding of profits over expenses made during the evening (100% entry fees + 100% SFV tournament fees – 100% minor expenses) and will be spread as following: 1st – 55%\, 2nd – 30% and 3rd – 15%. \nSincerely yours\,\nPavel (EVO–777) & Yuk (Red_Cel)

SUMMARY:MTLSF MAT XI (Montreal Annual Tournament XI)
DESCRIPTION:MTLSF MAT XI (Montreal Annual Tournament XI)\nAfter over 3 years of absence\, MTLSF is proud to bring back MAT! (Montreal Annual Tournament). For the return of this event\, we wanted to do something special\, so we rented a private lounge right in the middle of Downtown Montreal where MAT XI will be held for a special 2 day event. The event takes place on September 17 and 18\, where summer is getting to an end and where students may be able to attend before getting bodied by school duties. The main tournament will of course be Street Fighter V but there will also be a side tournament for Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator and Blazblue. MTLSF has put in a lot of effort to try and make this event nice and unique and to make it something you do not want to miss out on! With a venue packed with top players and open to until way passed bedtime\, whether you’d be coming to the event to have a good time or to find some challenge\, you’re guaranteed to find both! With that being said\, we would really appreciate everyone’s support for this and we really hope to see you there in great numbers! \n*Price Information*\n-Venue fee: 25$\n-Street Fighter V tournament fee: 25$\n-Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator tournament fee: 10$\n-Blazblue tournament fee: 10$ \n*** Please take note that if you do not preregister before the deadline and register at the door\, an extra 10$ will be charged\, so once again\, if you are sure to come to the event\, please preregister at: https://smash.gg/tournament/m-a-t-xi \nEven though a venue fee and tournament fee are listed\, please take note that in reality there is no such thing for this event as the prize pool for each tournament will greatly be influenced by the number of attendees for each game. The tournament is a non-profit event and so the extra money of the revenue over the expenses will be proportionally distributed among the number of players for each tournament (SFV & GG) and also proportionally to the total fee that was paid. For Blazblue however\, the prize pool will be the total of the tournament fees for that tournament. \n*Smash.gg*\nSmash.gg is a website designed for tournament organisers and players that simplifies a lot of things for the process of a good tournament. It is a platform that is used more frequently to sign up at tournaments so if you do not yet have an account on Smash.gg\, please take the time to make one as the registries for the tournaments (only Blazblue entries will be done without preregistering) will be done through this website\, it should take less than 5 minutes to create an account and will save a lot of trouble and will allow for a better planning of the schedule concerning the pools. Other than the general planning of the evening\, if you intend in going to the event\, it is strongly advised that you register through Smash.gg\, even if you intend in coming as a spectator only\, as the venue itself has a capacity limit where we will allow only for 160 people. So if you preregister\, your place is automatically saved and if that cap is reached\, we won’t allow any more people inside. Also\, the deadline for preregister will be set to Thursday September 15th at 11:59:59 PM. After that time\, you will still be able to show up and register at the door (if the cap of people hasn’t been reached)\, but you will be put in a death bracket where everyone who hasn’t preregister will be added and the bracket will be generated randomly with no seeding.\nYou can preregister by clicking the following link: https://smash.gg/tournament/m-a-t-xi \n*Partial Schedule*\nSATURDAY SEPTEMBER 17\n-Venue opens at 12h00pm for casuals\n-SFV tournament starts at 13h00 and brackets ran all day until finals\n-GG Xrd Revelator starts at 16h00\n-Blazblue more info to come\n-After hour party starts at 22h00\n-Exhibition 3VS3 city team battle at 22h00\nSUNDAY SEPTEMBER 18\n-Finals for SFV \n*Food*\nThere will be delicious food prepared on the premises so outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the venue. \n*Street Fighter V*\nPlayed on PS4\nAll 6 characters from season 1 DLC allowed\nDouble elimination tournament\n2 out of 3 games per match until top 8 (4 players in winners and 4 players in losers)\n3 out of 5 games per match for top 8 (including winner’s final\, loser’s final and grand finale) \n*Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator*\nPlayed on PS4\nDouble elimination bracket\n2 out of 3 games per match until top 3\n3 out of 5 games per match for winner’s final\, loser’s final and grand finale \n*Blazblue*\nPlayed on PS3\nDouble elimination bracket\n2 out of 3 games per match until top 3\n3 out of 5 games per match for winner’s final\, loser’s final and grand finale \n*Sticks\, Pads\, Converters & Legacy Controller Authentication*\nWhatever device you are using to play\, you must bring your own to the event. Legacy Controller Authentication will be allowed for this event\, but if you need to pair your stick\, please make sure to bring a PS4 pad in order to be able to pair it with.
