SUMMARY:MARCH MADNESS - CALL OF DUTY INFINITE WARFARE
DESCRIPTION:MARCH MADNESS – CALL OF DUTY INFINITE WARFARE\nAll teams/players in all locations will participate at one time in a GIANT double elimination bracket. No waiting for space to open up like a typical LAN event. \nTHIS IS NOT AN ONLINE TOURNAMENT! \nWhile matches do take place between teams via the internet\, the teams are all physically located at certified ggCircuit centers around North America. There will be no players or teams playing from home or remote locations. We will be tracking IP address and other data to ensure that all players/teams are only playing from their local certified ggCircuit center. \nThe tournaments consist of two fees to enter: \n#1 Tournament Entry Fee\n\nThis is paid to ggCircuit to enter the brackets and 100% of these fees create the national prize pool for that\n\n#2 Tournament Venue Fee\n\nThis is paid to the local ggCircuit center for the use of their facility the day of the tournament. Many centers have options available for full station with all equipment or empty stations for teams to BYOC (Bring your own Console/Computer)\n\n  \nTournament rules:\n Registration will close at midnight two days before the event.\n\nThe brackets will then be created and posted 24 hours before the matches begin. On game day\, all teams may join the ggCircuit Discord channel for their game to help coordinate matching up teams for matches in the brackets.\n\nThe fun part is that we guarantee all entries at least three matches. If you are down on your luck and lose both of your first two matches in the double-elimination bracket\, you will be automatically entered for free into the famous Pink Pansy single elimination bracket with all other teams who lost their first two matches. This bracket will be a fight to the death for those teams to take the top prize and be able to call themselves true Pink Pansies!\n\n(Oh… and they also win back their tournament entry fee as another bonus!)\n\nAt the end of the main double-elimination bracket\, the captains of the top teams winning prize money will receive the money via PayPal within 24 hours.\n\nTime\n  Matches start at 1 PM EST sharp\, teams must be checked in no later than 12 PM EST\n\nDate\n\nSaturday\, March 4th\n\nFormat / Settings\n\n- Seeding will be performed at random\n - - Higher Seeded Teams receive choice of side\n - Double Elimination\n - - Teams eliminated out of main bracket ( 0-2 ) are entered into a side single elimination bracket for a chance to win their Team Pass back\n - Best of 3 Format until Winners Semi-Finals\n - - Game 1 – Hardpoint\n - - Game 2 – Search and Destroy\n - - Game 3 – Uplink\n - Best of 5 Format for Losers Semi-Finals\, Losers Finals\, Winners Semi-Finals\, Winners Finals\, Grand Finals\n - - Game 1 – Hardpoint\n - - Game 2 – Search and Destroy\n - - Game 3 – Uplink\n - - Game 4 – Hardpoint\n - - Game 5 – Search and Destroy\n - Maps will be predetermined for each round\n - Additional Rulings will utilize CWL Atlanta Open rulings

SUMMARY:LANimal 2017
DESCRIPTION:LANimal 2017\nMark your calendars! LANimal is back again this year and hosted by the one and only McGill Science Computer Taskforce! \nWhat is LANimal?\nLANimal is an annual video game tournament for charity. We are hosting tournaments for League of Legends\, Melee\, Overwatch\, and Hearthstone. \nWhy should you attend?\nTo have a great time\, and for a good cause! This year\, we are donating to Kids Code Jeunesse\, a local charity that exposes kids to computational thinking and gives them the chance to learn how to code. You can find out more about their work at: http://kidscodejeunesse.org/home/ \nWhere do I go?\nLANimal will be held in the lobby\, 1B16\, 1B17\, and 1B18 of the Burnside building. \nSchedule:\nFriday March 10: Hearthstone and Overwatch as well as free play*\nSaturday March 11: League\, Melee\, and Hearthstone top 8 \n  \nSIGN UP HERE \n  \n*one lab will be open for free play\n ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n For League of Legends\, there will be Bo1 double elimination into Bo3 finals.\n\nNote: in the interest of time\, if the winner of the loser's bracket wins against the winner of the winner's bracket\, there will not be another game. Games will be streamed and casted on Twitch. Please make sure that your team can make it in person for the offline tournament.\n\nEntry fees for League are 10$ per person (50$ per team)\n\nComputers will be provided. You may also bring your own keyboards\, mice\, headphones and laptops as well.\n\nFREE AGENTS can look for teams at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cluj31jb2JbKsVUiO2cNVCeeqTCJsh_Bh4cpeJ2Hh0A/edit#gid=0\n ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n For Hearthstone\n\nHearthstone will be held over two days. From 5:00 to 8:30 PM on Friday\, Ro64 to Ro16 will be played. Ro8 and onwards will be played on Saturday afternoon 12:00PM - 4:00PM.\n\nComputers will be provided. Registration fee is $10 per person. Prize pool will be 50% of the registration\n\n------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n For Melee\n\nThis will be a SINGLES-ONLY EVENT\, which will be capped at 64 entrants.\n\nThe total price for entry will be $20\, with $10 going to charity and $10 going towards the prizepot. Spectators who wish to come play friendlies are asked to also donate to charity.\n -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n Overwatch\n\nTo be announced\n\nTournament rules:\n For Hearthstone\n Day 1: Round-Robin\n -Players are grouped together. Number of groups and players per group depends on number of entrants.\n There will be 6 groups total. So\, for 32 players\, 3 groups of 6 and 2 groups of 7\n -Players bring four decks with no duplicate classes. Players submit these decks ahead of time. These decks cannot be changed during the duration of the round-robin section.\n -Within their groups\, players a best of 3 games match against all other players in their group.\n -Prior to each match\, players ban one of their opponent’s decks (meaning it can’t be used for the duration of the match\, but the ban wears off at the end of the match).\n -Each match is last hero standing\, which means that if a player loses\, they cannot re-use that same deck for the rest of the match. A player who wins can use that deck again during the match.\n -If a game ends in a tie\, neither player receives a victory or a loss (the game effectively isn’t counted for tournament results).\n -Each match win counts for a certain amount of points. The players with the top 8 scores move on to the second day of the tournament.\n\nStrategies for tie-breaking:\n -Consider a match won 2:0 as being worth more points than a match won 2:1\n -If time permits\, play a second set of round-robin matches to break ties\n\nDay 2: Elimination bracket\n • Top X players compete bracket-style.\n o So\, if you start with 16 players\, you eliminate down to 8\, then down to 4\, down to 2\, and finally down to 1\n\n• The matches this time are best of five last hero standing\n o Players bring 6 decks that do not have to be the same as the previous day’s decks (they can make card changes to previous decks or bring completely new decks)\no At the very least\, players need 2 more decks than from the previous day\n o Players will also ban one of their opponent’s decks\n o Again\, if a player loses with a deck\, they cannot play it again. If they win with a deck\, they can play it again\n --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n For League of Legends\n\nTournament Format\n -There will be Bo1 double elimination into Bo3 finals\, 4 teams total\n -First come\, first serve (in teams)\n -Open to all rank\n -Summoner’s Rift map\, draft mode\n -Entry fee for League is 10$ per person (50$ per team)\n -If you are looking for teams\, sign up here and find people https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cluj31jb2JbKsVUiO2cNVCeeqTCJsh_Bh4cpeJ2Hh0A/edit#gid=0\n -A team may pause in-game only for technical issues\n -A team can remake a game only after a game-breaking bug upon inspection\n -Admins will reserve the right to disqualify a team based on their behaviour at their sole discretion if something noteworthy is brought to their attention\n -A formal complaint regarding behaviour and/or bugs needs to occur no more than 15 minutes after the game ended\, otherwise the matter will be considered as closed\n -Players are NOT allowed to live stream their games in this tournament\, however players can local record their games for their own use\n\nPrizes\n 1st: 31.25% of prize pool\n 2nd: 18.75% of prize pool\n 3rd: 12.5%\n 4th 12.5%\n Riot sponsored prizes depending on the placement (RP\, Triumphant Ryze\, etc)\n Teams will also receive sponsor gifts and lanyards\n 25% of the prize pool will be going towards charity\n\nNote: in the interest of time\, if the winner of the loser's bracket wins against the winner of the winner's bracket\, there will not be another game. Games will be streamed and casted on Twitch. Please make sure that your team can make it in person for the offline tournament.\n\nComputers will be provided. You may also bring your own keyboards\, mice\, headphones and laptops as well.\n ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n For Overwatch\n\nTournament format\n\n-Max 8 teams (4 teams will be playing in real time\, while the other 4 teams can free play or brief and watch the other teams)\n -Single Elimination\n -First come first serve\n -1 Hero Limit\n -Control(King of the Hill) maps will be played with “Best of 5” turned on\n -Map draft “Starting team” is to be set as “Random”\n -ALL maps are available to be played.\n -Competitive mode for all maps\n\nResults:\n\nThe games will be overseen by a staff member who will take count of victories and defeats and update the battlefy bracket as games are completed.\n Battlefy link: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/231016921561169920/284893012075479042/unknown.png\n\nMap Draft:\n -Map selection is to be done by a map draft on http://owdraft.com - either team captain creates the draft and links it to the opposing team.\n\nDraft tool settings:\n -Starting team = Random\n -Teams take turns banning maps until 1\, 3 or 5 maps are left\, depending on if its a Best-of-1\, 3 or 5\n -The remaining maps will make up the map pool used for the series - teams will then continue banning until there is only 1 map left\n -Whoever did NOT get the last ban gets to choose the starting side (attack or defense) for the first map\n -For game 2 and onwards the loser of the previous map will choose the next map from the map pool that was determined in the map draft and the winner of the previous map will get to choose the starting side\n\nIngame problems\, pausing\, disqualifications:\n Pausing\n You may NOT pause the match during a teamfight\n You may NOT use the pause functions for a tactical break\n Teams can pause for up to 4 minutes per map\n A team may not pause more than 3 times during 1 map\n\nRemakes (back to lobby):\n\nTeams can go back to lobby to reset the map ONLY if the game has not gone on for longer than 15 seconds after the spawns opened up - the issue needs to be announced immediately and the reason must be mentioned\n Otherwise the Pause function must be used\n First usage of known exploits or bugs will result in a forfeit of the current game. A second usage of known exploits or bugs will result in disqualification and potentially bans from participating in further tournaments.\n A formal complaint regarding behaviour and/or bugs needs to occur no more than 15 minutes after the game ended\, otherwise the matter will be considered as closed\n Admins will reserve the right to disqualify a team based on their behaviour at their sole discretion if something noteworthy is brought to their attention\n\nSpectating and streaming:\n\nAll spectators and non-affiliated streams are prohibited (that means subs AND coaches/managers)\n Any sanctioned spectators such as tournament admins and/or affiliated streamers may not be rejected by the teams\n Players are NOT allowed to live stream their games in this tournament\, however players can local record their games for their own use\n\nThe above rules are to be seen as a guideline but can be updated by head admin at any time to reflect last minute changes or clarifications/modifications as required.\n\n--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n For Melee\n\nThis will be a SINGLES-ONLY EVENT\, which will be capped at 64 entrants.\n\nThe total price for entry will be $20\, with $10 going to charity and $10 going towards the prizepot.
