We are very pleased to announce that we have a sponsor for the upcoming event\, “Orange Maison“\, which will provide free cans of “Base” energy drinks to keep the hype going for the whole evening! Other than the regular USFIV main tournament\, there will be a side event for UMVC3 which is detailed below. \n-Hot-dogs available at 1$ each\n-Free bottles of water\n-Free cans of “Base” energy drinks (provided by “Orange Maison”) \nPrizes:\nUSFIV:\nThe winning prize(s) will be the exceeding of profits over expenses made during the evening.\n(100% entry fees + 100% USFIV tournament fees – 100% minor expenses). \nUMVC3:\nThe winning prize will be 100% of the UMVC3 tournament fees.\n \nMain Tournament (USFIV):\n Other than the 5$ entry fee\, an additional 5$ will be required if you wish to enter the tournament. Although we have a lot of monitors on site\, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could bring an xbox360 with the latest version of USFIV. For those who already been at our last events or who have read the description of our previous events\, the following is pretty much a copy-paste of the same description. The local was the best location I could find for the relation quality/price and will allow a bigger pot for the winner(s) of the tournament. It can hold around 60 persons\, so we would greatly appreciate if you could click the “Going” button under the event if you are serious about coming to help us keep track of the number of participants. The local is situated at 4885 Boulevard Henri-Bourassa West (corner Henri-Bourassa and Marcel Laurin)\, and is located at the BACK of the building. The entrance is easily identifiable with the big maple leafs stickers on the door and the mention LEGION written.\nIf you come by car\, there is a train station right in front of the local which you can use for parking. I discussed this point with the owner of the local in order to not have any problems with towing since the parking spot is for the users of the train\, but he assured me that there should be no such problems. He always refer to that parking spot for people who are using this local and had no problems in the past since there is nobody present on place nor cameras that verifies if you truly are a customer for the train. So as for the parking spot\, it is only a suggestion and is at your own discretion. Note that if you park your car there\, it will be easily visible from the local itself. The train station parking mentioned is the second entrance on your right\, just after you passed Henri-Bourassa while going on Marcel-Laurin north\, and not the first one\, which is reserved for residents with a pass.\nIf you come by either metro or bus\, I suggest you to use the STM website and the “Itinéraire” tab which will allow you to enter your address and the local’s address and will propose you different travel options which you can then choose the most convenient one for you. If you managed to come by public transportation and are willing to tag along until closing time (around 11h30 pm)\, it will be my pleasure to drop you off afterwards to the metro or even home depending on where you live. \nOther basic information\n– There are men and women bathrooms.\n– There will be free bottle of waters provided.\n– There will be free cans of “Base” energy drinks provided by “Orange Maison”\n– A kitchen will be at our disposal so you can bring your own food or soft drinks if you want. Please note that the only thing you cannot bring regarding food and beverages is alcohol.\n– For all of you who would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while gaming\, rest assured as the owner will be present at the bar for alcohol selling. When you pass through the main entry door\, at your left will be the gaming room and at your right will be the bar with the owner. To enter the bar you must be at least 18 years old. The TOs own and operate their own events; Red Bull is supporting as a partner. \nPHASE 1 – QUALIFIER TOURNAMENTS\nThis year\, the series has been greatly expanded. Last year\, 1 representative was sent from Canada. This year\, 3 participating cities (Toronto / Montreal / Vancouver) will send THREE representatives to show who the best Region is. The top 3 will form a team that represents their region in the Red Bull Proving Grounds finals. Qualifiers work just like last year. There are now 12 Regions to last year’s 6 and they’ve been split into Divisions of East & West. The 6 teams from each Division will face off against each other in a Round Robin tournament in Santa Monica California. The top team to come out of that tournament will move onto the Championship Match. \nPHASE 3 – CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH\nThe 2 qualifying teams from each Division will face off in the FInals to determine the top team in Red Bull Proving Grounds. This will be a 3v3 Team Tournament but the winning team must win by 2 sets for a conclusive winner. \nGRAND PRIZE\n1st place: $6000USD ($2000USD per team member) Round trip and entry into the CPT North American Championships for the Team AND the top 8 of the winning Leader board. \nEVENT DATES\nSaturday August 5th\nSaturday September 2nd\nSaturday October 7th \nDISCLAIMER FOR US RESIDENTS:\nWe are always happy to have friends from the United States participate in tournaments. However; it must be noted that US residents are not eligible for Red Bull Proving Grounds points. They can however secure a monetary share from the collected prize pools. \n\nTournament Rules / Equipment Rules:\n\nPlayed on Playstation 4\n\nTournament Format:\n Strict Rules will be implemented once the official tournament has started\, nobody will be granted special treatment. Once your name or gamertag is announced\, you will need to report to the assigned station or else you will be disqualified. A 5 minutes warning will be given before proceeding with the disqualification.\n\nDouble elimination tournament:\n 2 out of 3 games per match\n 3 out of 5 games per Winners and Losers Finals\n 3 out of 5 games grand finals\n\nBring your own sticks/controllers:\n The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However\, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore\, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use\, make sure you ask other players or juge to help you find a controller.. All singles matches will enforce a 5 minutes rule and if you can’t find a stick within that time you will be disqualified. This is an advance warning and will not be brought up again.\n\nBroken Sticks/Buttons:\n If you have any stick/button problems at any time\, STOP PLAYING\, get up and inform a bracket director. The stick will be fixed/changed and the Judge will DECIDE the outcome. Please respect the Judge’s decision.\n\nAfter Match Results:\n Please make sure to update the tournament directors with your match results. If we don’t get an update from the winner or the loser and it will delays our work\, both players will be marked as Losers of their match and therefore be eliminated.\n\nControllers / Converters Rules:\n\nConverters:\n The Brook Converters and boards are allowed on a temporary basis. If game systems patch them out before the event\, rendering them useless\, they will be banned. So be very careful and have a backup plan.\n\nControllers:\n Great news for pad players out there. Since the Evolution Championship Series staff has made the decision to legalize DualShock 4 usage at their event this year then we will allow it as we follow their rules/regulations. Though normally banned due to their Bluetooth capabilities\, folks who rely on these devices to compete will now be able to utilize their controller of choice. You will need to bring your own USB cable.\n\nBut that doesn’t mean there won’t be regulations in place to ensure they don’t interfere with the competition. It will be every DualShock 4 users’ responsibility to make sure their controller is no longer paired with the console after their match. Anyone who doesn’t risks automatically disqualified from the tournament.\n\nMapping buttons is allowed but Autofire / Turbo are not allowed.\n\nAdditional Rules:\n 1. There will be no ties in any tournament. Anyone refusing to play any Match (including the finals) will be disqualified and forfeit all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.\n 2. A draw match as determined by the game must be replayed\, unless the game awards the draw to a player.\n 3. Inevitable Defeat rule is in effect. This is defined as when a player has legally won the round or match (i.e. landed a move that will kill the opponent) but pauses the game before the game awards the round won icon\, will still be awarded the win. The most common occurrence of this rule is when Player 1 lands a super on Player 2\, but the super animation is a grab and the damage isn’t awarded till the final hit connects\, but the opponent has legally lost the round. If there is a dispute over whether the move would have knocked out the other player\, a tournament official will unpause the match\, see the result of the action\, and proceed from there. If the attack does not kill the opponent\, then the mid game pause rules are in effect.\n 4. Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Organizer determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming\, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.\n 5. Tournament Organizer has a zero tolerance policy toward violence\, threats of violence\, intimidation\, and other forms of thuggery. Any threat of violence\, extreme intimidation\, or violence of any kind will result in an immediate and lifetime ban.\n 6.
