DESCRIPTION:MTLSF’S UNDERGROUND HYPE X\nWassup MTLSF! \nWe are back once more with our 10th tournament serie! This one will mark our one year anniversary so we hope to see you guys in great numbers to celebrate with us! We will have a great honor of welcoming some out of town warriors coming to us straight from Toronto for this special event. Once again\, we are very pleased to announce that we will still have “Orange Maison” as a sponsor for our next event\, which will provide free cans of “Base” energy drinks to keep the hype going for the whole evening! Starting this event\, since every major tournament will now be run on PS4\, we will start going in that direction so the consoles used for the tournament will be XBOX360 and PS4 and the main station will be run on PS4 (Please bring a dual mode stick if you can in order to run the tournament smoothly). Other than the regular USFIV main tournament\, there will be a side event for UMVC3 which is detailed below. There will be interesting raffle prizes given away for those who enter the tournaments where for each tournament entered the player will receive a ticket which will be used for a raffle. Although we have a lot of monitors on site\, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could bring an XBOX360 or PS4 with the latest version of USFIV. For those who already been at our last events or who have read the description of our previous events\, the following is pretty much a copy-paste of the same description. However\, here is a resume of the main points of the evening:\n–5$ entry\n-Open from 2pm to 11pm\n-UMVC3 side tournament starts at 5pm\, 5$ tournament fee\, XBOX360\n-USFIV main event starts at 7pm\, 5$ tournament fee\, PS4 and XBOX360\n-Hot-dogs available at 1$ each\n-Free bottles of water\n-Free cans of “Base” energy drinks (provided by “Orange Maison“)\n-Raffles draw at 7pm \nIf you are new to this event\, its objective is simply to bring the local FGC together where anyone is welcome to join (underage included). If you consider yourself a casual player\, this event will give you the experience of participating in a casual tournament. Instead of fighting your regular friends or people you don’t know online\, you will have the opportunity of fighting real local people\, each with their own style and knowledge\, who share the same hobby as you. Although it will revolve a lot around Street Fighter\, if you play other fighting games\, you are more than welcome since we will have several other fight games title available for casuals and you can also bring your own. \nEquipment and stations\n\n\n\n\n\nPlus / More\nSelectShow\n\n\nSeveral stations will be available under PS3\, XBoX360 and PS4. We will have a casual station under the PS3 where anyone can bring their own fighting game hoping to get some action (The following games will already be in place: Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3\, Marvel VS Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes\, Guilty Gear Xrd SIGN\, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike\, Street Fighter Alpha 3\, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo). For those who wish to play as many people as possible at USFIV during the casuals\, many stations will be playing USFIV and you can just call out “next” any time you wish. If you want to bring your own personal equipment (monitor or console)\, you are welcome to do so and it will be much appreciated as there is plenty of space for extra stations. Please note that you must bring your own pad/stick to the event.\n\n\n\n\n  \nTime\, date and fees\n\n\n\n\n\nPlus / More\nSelectShow\n\n\nThe event will take place on Saturday November 21st and the place will be open from 2pm until 11pm. The casuals will start at 2pm and going until closure\, the tournament for USFIV will start at 7pm and the side tournament for UMVC3 will start at 5pm. An entry fee of 5$ will be charged per person to enter and an extra 5$ will be charged per tournament entry if you wish to enter the tournament (explained in detail below) to help cover the expenses. Please note that the point of this event is not to make money\, but to assemble the local Fighting Game Community together. As a matter of fact\, once the expenses are covered\, the extra money will go to the winners of the USFIV tournament.\n\n\n\n\n  \nMain Tournament (USFIV)\nOther than the 5$ entry fee\, an additional 5$ will be required if you wish to enter the tournament. The tournament will be for Ultra Street Fighter IV (Ultra version only) and will be played either on PS4 or XBOX360\, based on the agreement of the 2 players who are at their turn to play. The tournament will be starting at 7pm and will be a double elimination style (Winners and Losers brackets). The winning prizes will be the exceeding of profits over expenses made during the evening (100% entry fees + 100% USFIV tournament fees – 100% minor expenses). \n  \nSide Tournament (UMVC3)\nWe will also run a side tournament for UMVC3 where an additional 5$ will be required if you wish to participate. The side tournament will be played onXBOX360. The tournament will begin at 5pm and will be a single elimination style. The sets will be best 3 out of 5. The winning prize will be 100% of the UMVC3 tournament fees. \n  \nLocation\n\n\n\n\n\nPlus / More\nSelectShow\n\n\nThe local itself is situated at the main floor of a condominium and is usually used for war veterans meetings\, so we only ask of you to treat it respectfully. The local was the best location I could find for the relation quality/price and will allow a bigger pot for the winner(s) of the tournament. It can hold around 60 persons\, so we would greatly appreciate if you could click the “Going” button under the event if you are serious about coming to help us keep track of the number of participants. The local is situated at 4885 Boulevard Henri-Bourassa West (corner Henri-Bourassa and Marcel Laurin)\, and is located at the BACK of the building. The entrance is easily identifiable with the big maple leafs stickers on the door and the mention LEGION written.\nIf you come by car\, there is a train station right in front of the local which you can use for parking. I discussed this point with the owner of the local in order to not have any problems with towing since the parking spot is for the users of the train\, but he assured me that there should be no such problems. He always refer to that parking spot for people who are using this local and had no problems in the past since there is nobody present on place nor cameras that verifies if you truly are a customer for the train. So as for the parking spot\, it is only a suggestion and is at your own discretion. Note that if you park your car there\, it will be easily visible from the local itself. The train station parking mentioned is the second entrance on your right\, just after you passed Henri-Bourassa while going on Marcel-Laurin north\, and not the first one\, which is reserved for residents with a pass.\nIf you come by either metro or bus\, I suggest you to use the STM website and the “Itinéraire” tab which will allow you to enter your address and the local’s address and will propose you different travel options which you can then choose the most convenient one for you. If you managed to come by public transportation and are willing to tag along until closing time (around 11h30pm)\, it will be my pleasure to drop you off afterwards to the metro or even home depending on where you live.\n\n\n\n\n  \nOther basic information\n– There are men and women bathrooms.\n– There will be free bottle of waters provided.\n– There will be free cans of “Base” energy drinks provided by “Orange Maison”\n– A kitchen will be at our disposal so you can bring your own food or soft drinks if you want. Please note that the only thing you cannot bring regarding food and beverages is alcohol.\n– For all of you who would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while gaming\, rest assured as the owner will be present at the bar for alcohol selling. When you pass through the main entry door\, at your left will be the gaming room and at your right will be the bar with the owner. To enter the bar you must be at least 18 years old. It will be possible for you to bring the alcohol beverage bought from the bar into the gaming room.\n– Due to the lack of restaurants in the nearby area\, the owner will be selling hot-dogs at 1$ each during the event.\n– Wi-Fi connection will be available (very limited connection though). \nIf you like the sound of this event\, please help support it by coming by and having a good time gaming with people who share the same hobby as you. The 6 teams from each Division will face off against each other in a Round Robin tournament in Santa Monica California. The top team to come out of that tournament will move onto the Championship Match. \nPHASE 3 – CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH\nThe 2 qualifying teams from each Division will face off in the FInals to determine the top team in Red Bull Proving Grounds. This will be a 3v3 Team Tournament but the winning team must win by 2 sets for a conclusive winner. \nGRAND PRIZE\n1st place: $6000USD ($2000USD per team member) Round trip and entry into the CPT North American Championships for the Team AND the top 8 of the winning Leader board. \nEVENT DATES\nSaturday August 5th\nSaturday September 2nd\nSaturday October 7th \nDISCLAIMER FOR US RESIDENTS:\nWe are always happy to have friends from the United States participate in tournaments. However; it must be noted that US residents are not eligible for Red Bull Proving Grounds points. They can however secure a monetary share from the collected prize pools. \n\nTournament Rules / Equipment Rules:\n\nPlayed on Playstation 4\n\nTournament Format:\n Strict Rules will be implemented once the official tournament has started\, nobody will be granted special treatment. Once your name or gamertag is announced\, you will need to report to the assigned station or else you will be disqualified. A 5 minutes warning will be given before proceeding with the disqualification.\n\nDouble elimination tournament:\n 2 out of 3 games per match\n 3 out of 5 games per Winners and Losers Finals\n 3 out of 5 games grand finals\n\nBring your own sticks/controllers:\n The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However\, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore\, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use\, make sure you ask other players or juge to help you find a controller.. All singles matches will enforce a 5 minutes rule and if you can’t find a stick within that time you will be disqualified. This is an advance warning and will not be brought up again.\n\nBroken Sticks/Buttons:\n If you have any stick/button problems at any time\, STOP PLAYING\, get up and inform a bracket director. The stick will be fixed/changed and the Judge will DECIDE the outcome. Please respect the Judge’s decision.\n\nAfter Match Results:\n Please make sure to update the tournament directors with your match results. If we don’t get an update from the winner or the loser and it will delays our work\, both players will be marked as Losers of their match and therefore be eliminated.\n\nControllers / Converters Rules:\n\nConverters:\n The Brook Converters and boards are allowed on a temporary basis. If game systems patch them out before the event\, rendering them useless\, they will be banned. So be very careful and have a backup plan.\n\nControllers:\n Great news for pad players out there. Since the Evolution Championship Series staff has made the decision to legalize DualShock 4 usage at their event this year then we will allow it as we follow their rules/regulations. Though normally banned due to their Bluetooth capabilities\, folks who rely on these devices to compete will now be able to utilize their controller of choice. It will be every DualShock 4 users’ responsibility to make sure their controller is no longer paired with the console after their match. Anyone who doesn’t risks automatically disqualified from the tournament.\n\nMapping buttons is allowed but Autofire / Turbo are not allowed.\n\nAdditional Rules:\n 1. There will be no ties in any tournament. Anyone refusing to play any Match (including the finals) will be disqualified and forfeit all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.\n 2. A draw match as determined by the game must be replayed\, unless the game awards the draw to a player.\n 3. Inevitable Defeat rule is in effect. This is defined as when a player has legally won the round or match (i.e. landed a move that will kill the opponent) but pauses the game before the game awards the round won icon\, will still be awarded the win. The most common occurrence of this rule is when Player 1 lands a super on Player 2\, but the super animation is a grab and the damage isn’t awarded till the final hit connects\, but the opponent has legally lost the round. If there is a dispute over whether the move would have knocked out the other player\, a tournament official will unpause the match\, see the result of the action\, and proceed from there. If the attack does not kill the opponent\, then the mid game pause rules are in effect.\n 4. Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Organizer determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming\, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.\n 5. Tournament Organizer has a zero tolerance policy toward violence\, threats of violence\, intimidation\, and other forms of thuggery. Any threat of violence\, extreme intimidation\, or violence of any kind will result in an immediate and lifetime ban.\n 6.
